The Heartland Book Festival welcomes Hardin County Students for Student Day at the festival. It is also open to the general public.

Visitors to the Heartland Book Festival have the opportunity to attend free presentations and workshops offered by authors from a wide range of backgrounds. Novel writing, short fiction, poetry, non-fiction, children’s and songwriting are all represented in these 45-minute sessions. Presentations and workshops address various stages of the writing process, everything from building a foundation to submitting work for publication. Additionally, visitors can attend a special poetry panel discussion.
